who we are

Mission

To worship Jesus by celebrating his grace, embracing his love, and carrying his gospel to the world.

vision

In a world of confusion, to be a pillar and buttress of the truth (1 Tim. 3:14-15).

In a world of shame, to be a display of God’s grace toward sinners (Rom. 10:11).

In a world of chaos, to be a temple of God, experiencing his love and presence (Eph. 2:21).

In a world of division, to be a community united by the gospel’s power (Gal. 3:27-29).

In a world of pain, to be ambassadors of a King who heals the brokenhearted (Rev. 22:2).

In a world of isolation, to be a family of faith who love each other authentically (Gal. 6:10).

Core Values

  • God’s glory is his highest end and our highest joy. Our hearts are only truly satisfied when we center our lives on Christ. So, while personal preferences, individual goals, and self-esteem can be important, our worship is driven by the wonders of Christ as we delight in God. In fact, all of life is meant to be worship, and it’s all for him.

  • Ministry is only valuable if it points to Jesus, who has “the words of eternal life,” (John 6:68). Indeed, the truth sets us free (John 8:32). So, our preaching and teaching aim to reveal the Bible, our singing embraces scriptural realities, our ministries direct our gaze to the gospel, and we speak the truth in love so that we may be built up in love (Eph. 4:15-16). In everything, we want to glorify God and experience him more. Therefore, we are committed to expositional ministry in order to expose the Bible’s truths.

  • None of us are perfect. We all need grace. As redeemed sons and daughters, believers are free to live in genuine relationships that help us walk with God. Christians are called to shoulder one another’s burdens and share each other’s joys. In fact, Jesus said that the world will know that we are his disciples because of our love for one another. So, grace enables us to love authentically, rooted in the gospel, to display God’s power to the world.

  • Our mission is to help people follow Jesus. Our love for Knoxville and the world is best expressed when we point others to the Savior of the world. So, we take seriously our commission to make disciples of all nations (Matt. 28:19-20). We do this by faithfully sharing the Good News with those in our city while also partnering with others who do the same among tribes far off and neighborhoods nearby.
